As Project Buyer for Forward Sourcing, you will act as Supply Chain's interface globally in the development of future products and services focusing on predominantly digitalization and internet of things business domains.
Responsibilities
Leading and steering all supply chain activities as procurement Single Point of Contact (SPOC) in new projects, which includes but is not limited to:
Act as Supply Chain SPOC and interface in cross-functional project teams
Deliver business support on project level with focus on:
Providing support in all stages of new product/service developments by ensuring the most cost effective and scalable supply chain set up (end to end: Supplier Identification, Sourcing, Contracting, Development, Life Cycle Management)
Providing support in large CAPEX projects
Function as procurement expert within the project team across business and category managers to drive effective application of best-in-class methodologies along the sourcing process such as Design-to-Cost, Value Engineering or other cost modelling techniques
Lead and prepare functional and technical descriptions of requirements (such as revising specifications)
Drive TCO optimization and contribute to product/service rationalization
Build and communicate material budgets, price forecasts and time plans; use maturity and experience in project management to support the implementation of the new projects including a stringent planning and upfront communication with the supplier base
Manage supply risk and take appropriate corrective actions
Detect, report and analyze market opportunities and their impact on the business up to actively developing new business opportunities through leveraging upstream supplier value propositions and funneling these to the right business stakeholders on the relevant levels
Manage the full operational sourcing process (including demand/market analysis, RFI, RFPs, negotiation, contracting and supplier implementation) in close collaboration with the project team
Coordination of purchasing activities between project team and global/regional categories
Qualification: Relevant academic degree (Master or equivalent) or similar education/apprenticeship
Experience:
Several years of experience in operational procurement of global categories across different roles, e.g. as technical buyer, project buyer or category manager
Relevant experience in complex procurement, tender and award processes, e.g. in the context of large CAPEX projects and/or experience in collaboration with cross-functional project teams, especially in the area of new product/service development
Experience in management of regional and global supplier relations
Experience in project management
Experience in an intercultural working environmen
Capabilities:
Pronounced entrepreneurial understanding, orientation towards customers and results
Positive attitude towards change processes
Profound knowledge in project management and accounts receivable management as well as contractual law
Technical understanding to translate requirements into procurement specifications
Negotiation skills
Analytical skills
Strong communication skills
Strong team player
Sound knowledge of MS Office programmes and SAP
Knowledge of project and SQA methodologies
Expertise in using common methods and tools for cost analysis
Business fluent proficiency in English
Readiness to travel both nationally and internationally
