Plan International Sweden is now looking for a Program Manager with experience in project and program management and quality assurance in the development and humanitarian sectors, preferably with a focus on children's rights and youth programming. You will join our experienced and committed team of eleven people who together form the program unit. The unit oversees both humanitarian and long-term development programs in an integrated and comprehensive manner.

We offer the right candidate a challenging role with a diverse range of stimulating duties and responsibilities. Together with your colleagues, you are given the opportunity to participate in and develop our work in Sweden but also be part of designing and enhancing our international program portfolio. As Program Manager, you will manage processes, cooperation and partnerships in order to ensure the development, monitoring and quality assurance of program activities with a focus on children and youth. Your ability to manage relationships and cooperate efficiently is key to success in this role. Plan International Sweden operates in close cooperation and partnership with Plan International's country offices, thematic advisors and other key players within and outside the Plan International family. This places particular demands on your coordination and collaboration capabilities but also offers a stimulating working environment and a vast range of opportunities for you to contribute and grow professionally.

As a Program Manager with Plan International Sweden, you will have the following key responsibilities:

- Manage various processes, partnerships and relationships to secure high-quality project and program design;
- Oversee, jointly with relevant Plan International Country Offices, timely and successful implementation of project and program activities throughout the project cycle and in accordance with Plan International routines and guidelines.
- Actively work on developing project proposals and assure the quality of program activities in close collaboration with country offices, thematic advisors and grants controllers.
- Manage for results and ensure regular and high standard of monitoring, evaluation and reporting in cooperation with country offices.
- Represent Plan Sweden externally and engage with other relevant actors.
- Monitor developments and conduct contextual analyzes focusing on children's rights and operating environments in the countries you are responsible for.
- Cooperate with and support various Plan departments in general and the Program Department in particular in, with flexibility and an open team spirit.


We are looking for a candidate with:

- An academic education in political science, law, human rights, social science or equivalent.
- Minimum five years of experience in a relevant field of work;
- Minimum three years of experience is required from countries and program contexts similar to those that Plan International operates in;
- Proven experience in project and program management, with a focus on managing towards results, cost efficiency and accountability;
- Proven experience in both humanitarian and development programming is required, preferably with a focus on child rights and youth oriented programming;
- Fluency in English and French is required and professional knowledge skills in Swedish, Arabic, and Spanish are a strong merit;
- Strong interpersonal, partnership, communication and collaboration skills are required;

You are a strongly motivated person, are analytical and work strategically against set goals. You are careful and accustomed to working independently against deadlines. You are a team player with good organizational and communication skills. You can easily formulate yourself in speech and writing in English and preferably other languages.

About the position

The position is an open-ended position with a six-month probation period. The employment is on a full time basis which corresponds to 37.5h / w. The position is based in Stockholm and a valid work permit for Sweden is a requirement. The position includes travel to countries where Plan International Sweden has program cooperation.
