Welcome to Linnaeus University! We meet the societal challenges of today and tomorrow in a spirit of openness, curiosity and creativity. By creating arenas for exchange of knowledge from different subjects, fields and cultures, we open up for new ideas and create new opportunities for long-term sustainable societal development. Linnaeus University - where people grow.

The Department of Design is part of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, which is one of Linnaeus University's five faculties. The faculty offers a dynamic, flexible, and international learning environment, comprising both academic and artistic work, in a wide range of fields. Design is a powerful force for change and for the development towards a sustainable society. At the Department of Design, we offer programmes and courses that provide students with solid knowledge of design and a firm foundation in the field of sustainability. Teachers work in teams, where each teacher contributes with different practical, theoretical, and artistic perspectives, such as norm criticism, decolonization, feminism, queer theory, and theories on post growth. Our members of staff contribute individually and collectively to sustainable societal development, through the research carried out at the department.
