hela Sverige The holder of the position as Professor is expected to take a leading role in research at the division. The holder of the position will also be given the possibilities to take on a leadership role in research projects as well in the organization both at division level and other levels of the university. In addition to carrying out top quality research that contributes to impact and innovation the position also involves planning and management of research projects, application for research funding, and conducting research supervision. The duties of a professor also include delivering high quality education that contributes to exceptional student experience, both at undergraduate and graduate level.
The Division of Automatic Control at Linköping University offers a strong and stimulating environment for research and education, and it conducts research and teaching in a wide range of areas of automatic control, including both theory and applications. The division is an active partner in a number of major national and international research collaborations, including the Linneaus Center CADICS, the VINNOVA Industry Excellence Center LINK-SIC, and the ELLIIT Excellence Center at Linköping-Lund in Information Technology. The Division of Automatic Control also offers high quality education at both undergraduate and graduate level within control and related subjects. In 2007 the Control systems education area, consisting of the Divisions of Automatic Control and Vehicular Systems, received the award Centre of Excellent Quality in Higher Education by the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education. The division has approximately 45 employees, including PhD students, and belongs to the Department of Electrical Engineering. The department has approximately 200 employees in eight divisions, which offer excellent possibilities for cross-disciplinary research activities, and there are ongoing research collaborations with groups within e.g electronics, communication, computer vision, and vehicular systems.
