We are looking for a Production Engineering Manager for RCS division, located in Stockholm
Your Role
The Production Engineering Manager - Interlocking and Wayside is responsible for ensuring:
• That all new products introduced within the product sector are developed and fully optimised utilising Design for Manufacture and Test methodology.
• That the manufacturing supply base for the product sector is technically capable of meeting the quality and output requirements through the implementation of effective supplier selection, product introduction and manufacturing support processes.
The Production Engineering Manager must project manage all technical elements of New Product Introduction, Supplier transfer, cost reduction, transfer of Technology and manufacturing maintenance projects utilising a team of Test Engineers and Production Engineers.
The role also includes responsibility for the functional management of all Production and Test Engineers based at the BT RCS Stockholm site and to ensure that their workload is aligned to the overall priorities.
Your Challenges
• Plan and project manage all technical elements of new product introduction, supplier transfer, cost reduction, transfer of Technology and manufacturing maintenance projects in line with the Production Engineering "core process". Project scope, strategy, budget and timescale will be agreed with the Head of Global Production Engineering.
• Ensure all key manufacturing plant and Test equipment owned by Bombardier is maintained effectively. Implement preventative maintenance routines and a replacement policy which ensures high availability and low downtime for the entire product manufacturing lifecycle.
• Select, mentor and develop Production and Test Engineers
• Set and prioritise the workload for Production and Test Engineers working. Work with the Head of Global Production Engineering to identify suitable resources and internal development needs.
• Ensure Manufacturing technical processes adopted by the supply base are efficient and to the required industry standards. Monitor production yield, performance and output and ensure improvements to meet output, cost and quality targets are implemented.
Your Experience and Qualifications
• Educated with an MBA or Engineering Degree plus a minimum of 4 years relevant Industry engineering experience.
• Extensive professional experience in Production Engineering disciplines including in-depth knowledge of electronic, electrical and mechanical production / test processes.
• Experience in leading a specialized technical team with responsibility for ensuring production output and quality is maintained and product design is optimized for manufacture.
• Knowledge of Production Test Equipment development and specification, Including hardware and software development process and tools.
• Planning and Project Management skills.
• Role model with capability to coach and mentor.
• Organized, self motivated, capable of delegating and negotiation.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
