The scope of your role
As a Product Manager for insurance, your role is to define the problem space, create a vision, set the strategy, build a roadmap, and set the pace of the development for the insurance products. The Product Manager is accountable for the product throughout its lifecycle, from idea to discovery, delivery and continuous management and development. The Product Manager is solely accountable for all parts of the product, including ensuring proper staffing of the product team.
Main responsibilities
• Full P&L responsibility for the insurance product(s)
• Ensure that the targets and KPIs set for the product(s) are met
• Keep up to date with the development, competitors & best practices within the insurance area
• Own and articulate end-to-end product requirements to the product team and other stakeholders
• Ensure successful and compliant launch of new insurance products, features, etc.
• Continuously assess and find ways to improve the product and its profitability
• Validate that deliveries from IT meet the product requirements
• Ensure that the product team is staffed in the most efficient way possible
Qualifications
To thrive in this role you need to have previous experience in a product role, preferably within the bank, finance and/or insurance industry. You have strong business acumen and as a person, you are organized, thorough and well-formulated.
• University degree within a relevant field, e.g. business or IT
• 3-5 year working experience, preferably from a product organization
• A solid understanding of the insurance industry
• A deep passion for mobile products and services
• Proven leadership experience with great communication and presentation skills
• A can-do attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile to win
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to prioritize
• Great project management skills and a passion for the fast-paced life at a scale-up
• Experience from Financial Services or Financial Technology is an advantage
• Working proficiency and communication in verbal and written English
• You know how to influence decision-making at all levels within an organisation, and in a variety of contexts
It is meritorious if:
• You are experienced with data-driven product development and have deep knowledge of product discovery methods
• You are experienced in building consumer-facing products at scale
