Product ergonomics - Analysis Engineer

The section Ergonomics at Volvo Car Group is fully responsible for leading and developing the complete vehicle within the area and has a strong focus on customer needs. The challenge consists of developing, defining and communicating requirements that reflects expectations and needs of our future customer. The three main attribute areas, in which we develop methods for simulation and virtual testing are; visibility, daily life usage and occupant accommodation and roominess.

As Product ergonomics - Analysis Engineer the main focus is to contribute and produce the deliveries of Ergonomics in product programs with CAE analysis. It is also within this role to support the annual development of our attributes and requirements outside the car programs with strategic intent of strengthening the CAE competence. The every day work consists of performing initial analysis of individual systems in the car as well as identifying and reporting attribute deviations in programs. You are going to be part of a strong team that together secure relevant benchmark-data of other competitor brands and maintain our knowledge of system solutions from our competitors, seen from an ergonomic perspective.

Main responsibilities

• Monitor, perform, analyse and understand results from both virtual and physical user tests, as well as results from different customer surveys
• Use the result as base for the requirement setting and argumentation in the programs
• Develop new tools for virtual verification

Required qualifications

• At least a B.Sc. preferable with emphasis on ergonomics and/or CAE
• Documented competence in Catia V5, or equivalent system
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Master's degree within ergonomics is meritorious as well as Swedish
• Knowledge of other CAE tools as Rasmis and DeltaGen or experience from Volvo Car Group's internal system is meritorious
• An asset would be previous work in automotive industry and work in programs and specific the field of ergonomics
