The primary responsibility for this position will be to support the development of the Trase platform. This work will include helping assess, manage and monitor the needs of different members of the core Trase team as well as external partners and sub-contractors. This will include supporting the needs of the data science, development and design teams to improve the functionality, usability and impact of the platform, whilst also helping to coordinate user testing with project partners and stakeholders, and tracking and analysing user analytics and feedback.

This position is of the highest strategic importance for the development of Trase, and will also involve ongoing work to support the Trase strategy, as well as an active role in engaging with partner organizations and users involved in every stage of international commodity supply chains.

Within the core Trase team the product development manager will have lead responsibility for creating and overseeing the implementation of work plans, as well as monitoring and reporting. The position will also involve an active role representing Trase publically, including in international meetings, and supporting the work of our communications teams to disseminate our key insights and findings related to the sustainability of global commodity supply chains.

Requirements:
We are looking for an experienced project manager who has worked in a research or civil society organization, private company or public agency in the environment or sustainability sector. In your prior work you have had responsibility for managing program content but also strategic thinking and communication with external partners. As we work with a wide array of different stakeholders, you need strong interpersonal and communication skills, and enjoy interacting and networking with actors in multi-cultural settings and from very different disciplines (data and sustainability scientists, communications specialists, development, policy and campaigning organizations, public and private sector stakeholders). The work requires that you are a natural team player, easily at home in a dynamic, entrepreneurial and highly motivated team. You should be passionate about the urgent need to develop more sustainable and just approaches to managing the Earth 's natural resources.

Key qualifications:

• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and familiarity with both technical and non-technical areas of work
• Familiarity with common tools used in software development and project management
• High level of competency with text processing, spreadsheet management
• Good writing and editing skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas to wide audiences
• Patience and calm in situations with tight deadlines
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Masters level education (or work experience equivalent) in a relevant field

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with strong teamwork and project coordination skills to work within a dynamic team of researchers, helping to manage an exciting new development in global supply chain sustainability - the Transparency for Sustainable Economies (Trase) platform (www.trase.earth). Trase is a sustainability platform that enables governments, companies, investors and others to better understand and address the environmental and social impacts linked to their supply chains. Its approach draws on vast sets of production, trade and customs data, for the first time laying bare the flows of globally-traded commodities - such as palm oil, soya, beef and timber - at scale. Trase is a direct response to the ambitious commitments made by leaders across sectors to achieve deforestation-free supply chains by 2020 - and the urgent need this creates for a breakthrough in assessing and monitoring sustainability performance.
