We are now looking for a highly motivated Principal Scientist Non-Clinical Safety and Translational Development to be scientifically responsible for our projects.
Alligator Bioscience is a clinical stage biotech company situated in the Medicon Village science park in Lund, southern Sweden. We develop innovative antibody treatments for cancer patients. Our most advanced program, mitazalimab, is in clinical Phase II trials in Europe and our pipeline includes additional ongoing Phase I trials as well as several pre-clinical development projects. YOUR ROLE
As part of the Principal Scientist role, you will be responsible for non-clinical pharmacology strategies including non-clinical safety and translational pharmacology for selected projects working in close collaboration with the project team. Within this role you will develop toxicology strategies and provide toxicological expert support to research and development projects. In the project team you will ensure that non-GLP and GLP toxicology activities are conducted in collaboration with selected CROs. In your role you will also work in collaboration with other scientists and laboratory staff to design, perform and interpret critical experiments to answer key translational questions for our pre-clinical and clinical projects. You will work in cross functional project teams, ensuring that adequate non-clinical data are available in time for decision making. In your role you will also supervise others and coordinate work done at contract labs.
OUR EXPECTATIONS
You have a Ph.D. in Toxicology, Molecular and/or Cellular Biology, Immunology, Biomedicine or similar and 10+ years of post-doc experience in non-clinical pharmacology and toxicology within pharma/biotech.
In addition to the above, we expect the ideal candidate to have:
An understanding of regulatory guidelines to support clinical development and registrational filings
A strong background and demonstrated skills in the practical application of non-clinical safety
A solid experience in the non-clinical development of biotherapeutics leading to IND filing
An understanding in the entire non-clinical drug development process
A strong foundation and a thorough understanding of experimental design within immunology and immuno-oncology research
Experience with translational pharmacology including biomarker selection and biomarker technologies
Experience in the design, implementation, and management of internal non GLP studies and external GLP studies in accordance with current industry standards for drug candidates in support of clinical stage programs
Experience in identifying and selecting high quality CROs for the conduct of nonclinical safety studies
You are a natural leader and an experienced manager who leads through good examples. You are driven by curiosity and a genuine scientific interest. You value honesty and trust and have a high ethical standard. You are a self-motivated and goal-oriented team player with strong collaborative and communicative skills.
