The role of the Principal is primarily to ensure that the school complies with relevant laws and regulations and to keep the ethos of Internationella Engelska Skolan at the centre of the effective management of the school. This means creating and maintaining a safe and calm environment where teachers can teach and students learn.
In order to achieve the above the Principal will undertake the following:
• Long-term planning for the benefit of the students.
• Ensure that terms and conditions of employed staff are implemented and applied openly and fairly.
• Ensure that internal, financial control, authority and responsibility is maintained in a consistent and professional manner.
• Ensure that all income and expenditures (revenue and capital) is managed within all official legal and financial legislation.
• Decide upon and act accordingly in reference to educational content, tea¬ch¬ing delivery and learning materials.
• Be responsible for time tabling /sche¬duling.
• Ensure effective recruitment in order to maintain a teaching establishment that meets the needs of the students.
• To consider and exchange information, from whatever source, that may benefit the school.
• Ensure that clear, concise, accurate information is maintained with students, parents and staff.
• Make recommendations, where necessary, to the Board of Directors and Head Office, for the benefits of the school.
The successful candidate will:
Have experience running a school, preferably a free school with an international profile.
Be fluent in English, ideally native language.
It would also be considered an advantage if the candidate had taken or was currently taking the Swedish Principals qualification (Rektorsutbildning)
