Connected, electric, highly-automated and autonomous vehicles are making their way into our lives, and it's happening fast! Nevertheless, this paradigm shift in the automotive industry introduces new security and safety challenges that used to be more associated with "IT Security" and "Aviation Safety", respectively. This is where the Cybersecurity and Functional Safety Group comes into the picture not only to strengthen prevailing safety expertise and culture but also to address contemporary security and safety risks of electrical and/or electronic systems of vehicles and transport solutions.

About the position
We are aiming for strengthening our cybersecurity team with your personal touch in defining our future direction. This position provides you with opportunities to "Challenge the Impossible!" and "See your company through the eyes of a hacker".

You will be a key player in defining holistic product cybersecurity management strategy and framework. This strategic activity is performed in a cross-functional manner involving colleagues from different Volvo Group functions and organizations. You will actively contribute to threat analysis and risk assessment activities to identify cybersecurity requirements and mitigate cybersecurity risks associated with electrical and/or electronic systems of our current and future products.

Your responsibilities include proposing and detailing technical concepts and solutions. You contribute to the implementation and follow-up of cybersecurity management solutions. You have possibilities of participating in technology development and advanced engineering activities in automotive cybersecurity.

This position offers numerous possibilities of interacting with people, experts and engineers across different organizations within Volvo Group and external entities. This position thus offers you a complete ecosystem to advance your personal and professional growth to the next level.

Who are we?
Cybersecurity and Functional Safety Group is the center of excellence and expertise in product cybersecurity and functional safety within Volvo Group Trucks Technology. The group currently consists of 10 technical specialists, experts and rookies to deal with cybersecurity and functional safety challenges.

Our work spans the entire lifecycle of a vehicle - from concept phase to operational vehicles on road. We have the responsibility of implementing the ISO 26262 standard (Functional Safety standard for road vehicles) within Volvo Group to ensure that our products comply with the standard. We define cybersecurity product system roadmap that includes cybersecurity strategies and technology needs for our products. We are part of standardization initiatives in functional safety and cybersecurity.

Required qualifications

• M.Sc. Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or other technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
• Well-recognized experience of working with technical challenges, concepts, strategies and solutions in IT/Cyber security in any major business sector or industrial domain
• In-depth knowledge about IT/Cyber security frameworks, methods, processes, tools and standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Beneficial qualifications

It is meritorious to have one or more of the following:
• Experience of working with IT/Cyber security risk management
• Strong knowledge in system and software engineering along with hands-on experience
• Very good knowledge about real-time and/or safety-relevant embedded systems
• Good understanding of robust and reliable system/software design principles
