About PEU Radio
Product Engineering Unit Radio is a unit within HW Engineering responsible for development, release, maintenance and quality assurance of Ericsson Radio Portfolio. Further, PEU Radio is responsible to secure technology for future platforms and products, including technology strategy, standardization & regulatory efforts and specification of components, modules and ASICs that future products will be based upon. Executing the responsibilities of PEU Radio will be done with tight collaboration with other units within the HW Engineering Unit.

About this opportunity
The market landscape, competitor situation, and technology evolution within RAN market are continuously evolving and putting new demands on our organizational capabilities. These new demands will have an impact on Radio Unit End-to-End (E2E) Testability concerning increasing complexity, new test methods, significant lab HW and SW services investments and need for global perspective.
The Principal Developer in Radio Unit E2E Testability is the primary driver of global Testability development and will address the Radio unit challenges within E2E test coverage, effectiveness and global alignment with the overall objective of securing testability of future products and a corresponding improved Time to Market and product quality.
This position is based in Kista and reporting to the Line Manager PTM.

Key responsibilities of the role
Drive and secure a Radio E2E Test Strategy aligned with RAN and Radio architecture evolution and catering for the different phases of Radio product development
Drive customer focused test scenarios definition and KPIs (Key Performance Indicator) and implement in E2E test strategy
Define pre-development activities with a clear case to close technology gaps, increase reuse and optimize Test flows
Drive the overall test strategy for new Radio platform products by participating operatively in the early phase studies of the new products/solutions and in product definition ensuring the testability of the defined products including Test Tools roadmap alignment
Drive E2E testing optimization with a balance in quality, lead time and cost efficiency
Collaborate globally with architects, system management, and test specialists/experts from other PEUs and BNEW within test domain
Drive the future Test solutions including Test methods, instruments, as input to various Test Areas and streamline Test Environment investment
Represent Ericsson as a technical leader in contacts with customers, competitors, partners, and academia
Drive the changes needed for test strategy, test methodologies, test environment, test tools and test automation based on the product requirements and Radio LPP (Long Term Product Plan)
Foster innovation and file patents in the domain to secure relevant intellectual property for Ericsson
Teach, coach, and mentor colleagues on the different aspects of the domain
Stay updated on key industry trends, academic research, and technology development in the domain and disseminate acquired knowledge across the organization
Build and maintain a professional and international network of peer technology authorities within and outside Ericsson


Qualification, Skill and Leadership Requirements
Significant radio product development experience and proven capability to drive matters in global large development organizations
Strong domain knowledge in the areas of Radio Unit testing (HW, SW, Production, Integration etc.)
Experience in leading early-phase activities (studies, pre-development) within technology development
Ability to build, develop and energize a network of senior contributors within a technology domain
Experience of leading strategic work within a R&D context
Competence within the areas of international standards/communities and regulatory approval (e.g. 3GPP, ORAN, CE/ETSI)
Thrives on accountability, overcoming challenges with a can-do attitude and motivated to explore new opportunities
Demonstrable ability to drive team engagements and act in a time-sensitive environment
Good communications skills in order to make it clear to involved stakeholders which challenges exists and the alternatives in addressing those
Relevant university education
