Marine & Ports is a business unit within ABB's Industrial Automation division that assists shipping companies to transfer containers in a reliable, fast and cost-efficient way. Specialized in advanced automation, information systems and motion control for container cranes, Marine & Ports is the leading supplier of crane systems and is active worldwide.
You will be our responsible system designer in the area of power supply in our global delivery projects of advanced automatic port systems. In this important role, you will be a key-player to enable a smooth project execution that fulfills the customer requirements.
Your responsibilities
Developing our base solution as well as customer solution for the power supply to our crane systems (medium- and low voltage).
Preparing the system design for the substation including transformers, breakers, relay protection etc.
Based on performance requirements, select applicable drives and motors.
Ensure the design of the power supply and its components meet the project specific requirements and is compatible with the drive line as well as the auxiliary load.
Ensure the power quality is ok and that we meet applicable grid codes.
Technical reviews and discussions with customers, partners, subcontractors and vendors.
Collaborating and networking with engineering colleagues, sharing best practice across different projects and disciplines.
Helping customers resolve technical issues both remotely and on domestic and international customer sites.
Maintaining and enhancing customer satisfaction by providing excellent service at all stages of the project.

Your background
A master's or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar field.
Preferably, more than 5 years of experience working with system design within medium voltage.
It is a merit but not necessary to have experience of electrical design of control- and protection cubicles or experience of AC drives.
A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies.
A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
