Publiceringsdatum2016-12-05Kravprofil för detta jobbThe candidate has a PhD in biology and a background within in vivo animal research preferably in the area of respiratory diseases and models of lung diseases.
The candidate should be able to independently drive projects and interact smoothly and efficient with a network of scientists with different background. As reporting in peer review journals is an essential part of the project, a strong publication rate is required. Experience from imaging is a merit as well as experience or interest in translational science.
Dina arbetsuppgifterThe candidate will develop imaging biomarkers for interstitial lung diseases in preclinical animal models. In this work different imaging modalities will be applied e.g. PET imaging and MRI. Since the project also includes clinical trials the translational aspects of the pre-clinical work is and important part. The duties will include project coordination involving several disciplines and experts, planning and conduct of animal studies, interpretation and evaluation of results. In this work, several techniques will be applied, such as set-up and characterization of animal models, administration of drugs, collection of biological samples, collection and preparation of tissues and organs and imaging (CT, PET, MRI) of the animals. An essential task for the candidate will be analysis of data and reporting in peer review journals. The project is performed in a European consortium. Some travel may be needed since parts of the work will be performed in collaboration with other sites or at other sites in e.g. UK.
