The Umeå Plant Science Centre (UPSC) is a Centre of Excellence in experimental plant biology, located in northern Sweden. The UPSC comprises approximately 200 researchers, from more than 40 countries, working on a variety of key issues in plant biology, including root and shoot development, flowering, biotic and abiotic stress responses and wood formation. UPSC has excellent, world-class laboratories and associated facilities for genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, microscopy, plant growth and genetic manipulation.
Duties:
This postdoctoral position is offered as part of a collaborative project funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation and involves four groups from Umeå Plant Science Centre (Ljung, Hanson, Nilsson, Schmid;
https://www.upsc.se/research/research-groups.html). The postdoctoral fellow will work directly in the group of Professor Karin Ljung,
www.upsc.se/karin_ljung. The project will employ an interdisciplinary strategy based on state-of-the-art genomics, and genetics, as well as molecular and biochemical methodologies.
Qualifications:
A PhD degree in analytical chemistry or biochemistry, or the equivalent, is required. The PhD degree should have been awarded no more than three years prior to the date of application. The applicant should be well acquainted with different sample purification and analytical mass spectrometry techniques (especially LC-MS/MS). Documented ability to manage a laboratory research project is required. The candidate must have a good knowledge of English. Selection will be based on the written application, CV, personal references and an interview.
