Faculty of Health and Society
Our education and research is conducted with the vision of promoting health and participation. We develop leading professional education programs that provide healthcare, social work and enterprises with competent staff. Our education and research are located in three locations in Malmö.

Department of Criminology
The department has a multidisciplinary profile, bringing together researchers from criminology, sociology, psychology, social work, medicine/psychiatry and law. Specific research areas are criminal careers, gender and crime, comparative studies, longitudinal studies, the geography of crime, intimate partner violence, hate crimes, juvenile delinquency, crime prevention, drug abuse and mental illhealth. Our research is being developed in close cooperation with local and national organizations and authorities as well as with national and international academic partners.

About the position
The position entails self-initiated research as well as in collaboration with other staff members at the Department of Criminology, Malmö University. Teaching up to 20 % is also included. As a postdoctoral fellow, you are expected to bring plans for your own research, collaborate with colleagues at the department, participate in higher seminar and other research activities. You are expected to perform high level research and publish in international, scientific journals.

Qualifications
Postdoctoral positions are appointed primarily for purposes of research. As an applicant, you are expected to hold a Swedish doctoral degree in Criminology or an equivalent degree from another country. Ongoing or planned collaboration with a senior staff member at the Department of Criminology is required.

The degree should have been completed no more than three years before the deadline for applications. An older degree may be acceptable under special circumstances, which may involve sick leave, parental leave, clinical attachment, elected positions in trade unions, or similar.

In the appointment process, particular weight will be given to research proficiency. Weight will also be given to cooperation skills.

We are looking for a flexible, communicative and collaborative candidate. Independence and strong motivation are expected. Proficiency in the Swedish language is not required. We do however require that you possess excellent English language skills.
