Project overview

Your research will focus on significantly reducing the complexity of synthesizing conjugated polymers through continuous flow chemistry. You will work closely with fellow PhD students and postdocs at Chalmers, collaborating with partners across Sweden and internationally. This role also offers exciting opportunities to travel and engage with external collaborators.

About the research group

The Müller Research Group at the division of Applied Chemistry specializes in the physical chemistry and materials science of organic semiconductors, polymer blends, and composites. Our research advances new plastic materials for wearable electronics and energy technologies, including organic solar cells, thermoelectrics and power cables. Collaborations with other universities, research institutes and industry partners play a key role in our work. Our group currently includes 1 Professor, 1 Senior Scientist, 4 Postdocs and 8 PhD students.

Key responsibilities

• Devote the majority of your time to research and formal courses designed to enhance your scientific and professional skills.
• Develop your own research ideas and communicate results both orally and in writing.
• Dedicate up to 10% of your time to departmental duties, particularly teaching at the undergraduate level.

All early-stage researchers recruited into the WISE program will be a part of the WISE Research School, an ambitious nationwide program of seminars, courses, research visits, and other activities to promote a strong multi-disciplinary and international network between PhD students, postdocs, researchers, and industry.
