The ubiquity of sensor, computing, communication, and storage technologies provides us with access to previously unknown amounts of data big data. It has revolutionized research communities and their scientific methodologies and innovated the approaches to knowledge and theory building, validation, and exploitation in the Social Sciences. The research related to this position will focus on political analysis using big data and other computational social science methods, and will be carried out in close collaboration between Department of Political Science and the DISA centre. The doctoral student will conduct research projects that are consistent with the research focus of the Department of Political Science and the DISA centre: party politics, political behavior, public opinion, political representation and parliamentary studies, public ethics and corruption, and environmental policy.
Form of employment: Employment under a doctoral studentship is limited in time pursuant to Sweden's Higher Education Ordinance (HEO) Chapter 5 Section 7. However, the total employment period may not exceed a period corresponding to full-time, third-cycle study for four years.
