About the job
As People Safety Specialist in Bohus you develop and drive the safety work at the site in line with AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals HSE (health, security, environment) strategy. You identify and evaluate HSE and risk issues and opportunities, make suggestions for improvement, stimulate and support the organization in the implementation.
Main responsibilities
• Develop a strong safety culture supporting people safety programs according to the HSE Common Platform
• Define, implement and maintain procedures to ensure acts in compliance with legislation, regulations and internal directives and procedures related to people safety.
• Act as fire liable for the site in order to manage permit for flammables and be the responsible contact with the fire brigade authorities
• Develop and maintain the emergency plan and fire prevention plan for the Bohus site
• Ensure transfer of safety knowledge and requirements by plan and participate in information and training sessions
• Analyze safety incidents and near misses and develop recommendations to improve safety performance
• Support line managers with the reporting, investigation and follow-up action of safety incidents, employing root cause analysis tools
* Conduct internal audits to verify compliance with HSE Management system
* Be representative in relevant associations and local groups for safety related issues
We except applicants to have a technical scientific education specializing in working environment/safety engineering and good knowledge of working environment and fire legislation. You have at least some year's relevant experience and are familiar with investigating incidents and near misses as well as management system for safety and health. Previous experience from chemicals process or similar is beneficial.
To be successful in this position you have great communication skills and the ability to lead, engage, and coach others, especially during change. You are structured and responsible person who is not afraid to take initiatives and push your issues forward. You also like being in a supporting role and strive to deliver high quality results with a clear safety approach. You are also good at prioritizing and able to handle large amounts of data at the same time.
