One of the major energy challenges to further invest in renewable energy sources is effective energy storage. Alfa Laval have just partnered with Malta Inc, with an innovative process for storing energy in molten salt. We will develop new, highly efficient heat exchangers for this process. We're looking for a skilled OD-engineer to join our project team!

About the jobYou will be part of a small and dynamic team that drive an exciting and innovative project. Your mission will be to ensure a high-quality, manufacturable product at the lowest possible cost.
Key tasks will include to:
Lead the evaluation of key technologies from a manufacturability point of view, including test setup
Participate in design discussions with special focus on ease and cost of manufacturing
Define need and find manufacturing infrastructure for prototype and pilot phase
Define manufacturing steps and sequence for prototype, pilot and long term. Establish facility lay-out, organization, equipment specification and sub-contracting technologies and suppliers (together with sourcing) for pilot phase
Create the list of critical processes to be investigated at pilot scale
Establish production times, capacities and routings
What you knowYou are a production engineer by training, or similar work experience. You have experience from production environments of industrial equipment including designing and setting up new lines or new equipment, ideally integrating newly developed products on new or modified production lines. With this, you have experience from designing new processes, identifying new suppliers and validating functionality. You are used to being part of a project team and consider multiple perspectives.
The role will 20-25 days of travelling.
