You will have the overall responsibility to ensure consistent, seamless end to end delivery of Ocean Operations and Customer Service activities (import and export) according to the promised value proposition for our Ocean customers. You will be responsible for driving profitability through high quality customer service and continuous improvement that supports Damco's market strategies.

Your key accountabilities will be to:
• Lead, guide and develop the Ocean team (approx 10 direct reports).
• Drive margin optimization as well as financial control for Ocean freight forwarding customers.
• Proactively support and collaborate with commercial and product team on existing and new business opportunities.
• Supports the Ocean team in operational and customer emergencies.
• Maintaining relationships with Carriers in collaboration with Ocean product team.
• Drive and implement internal projects and improvement opportunities.
• Facilitate daily huddles and manage capacity in the team by using LEAN methodology and implementing a continuous improvement mindset in the team.

We are looking for an experienced manager to head our Ocean Customer Service and Operations team in Arendal, Gothenburg. In this role you will be part of the local Swedish Customer Service Management team and able to influence and impact on our local market approaches. You will also act as the primary stand in during the Customer Service Office Manager absence.

We believe you are a freight forwarder within ocean freight with mixed experience from import and export. Leadership and engaging other employees is something that comes natural for you and you feel comfortable to communicate on all levels and with different stakeholders.

We believe that the ideal candidate has:
• Strong drive, initiative and engagement - ability to work self-directed and well-organized
• 3-5 years of experience from freight forwarding with at least 2 years experience as a leader
• Strong customer orientation.
• Great communication skills and able to tackle challenges with proactivity.
• A natural curiosity and thrive when solving problems and taking ownership.
• Ability to prioritise (own and others tasks) combined with good planning skills
• Team player with a "can do" attitude
• A coaching mindset
• Master English and Swedish on business level
• A University degree within logistics/supply chain or similar educational background is an advantage.
