NVH Engineer

The Mechanics & Manufacturing group focuses on the development and optimisation of mechanical components, structures and related production processes to support the Volvo Group Companies. The work is mainly carried out in projects together with Volvo Group companies and in national and international consortia. It is achieved by using simulation and experimental methods. We are located at Chalmers Science Park in the centre of Gothenburg and at Lundbystrand (M1).
Position Description
Working as a member of the Applied Mechanics team you will be responsible for researching and consulting on a wide range of Noise and Vibro-Acoustic schemes. Projects are run within the Volvo Group in close cooperation with the Volvo companies, but also in external cooperation with universities in national- as well as EU-projects.
You will work both as a numerical analyst as well as a noise and vibration test engineer. Your dual field experience will bring computation and testing closer to each other and add knowledge about correcting invalid assumptions by processing test results.
The Applied Mechanics team comprises of specialists in the areas of Solid mechanics, Vibro-Acoustics, Structural Optimization and Crashworhiness. We work with both simulations and experiments.
Requirements
You should have a NVH track record of dealing with structural dynamics and / or vibro-acoustic issues, both numerical and experimental
A university degree in a relevant field is essential
Ability to build relationships and networks and to interact at all levels in a matrix organisation
Project leader experience or other leadership experience is seen as an advantage
Strong business and customer orientation with a solid understanding of business context and challenges
Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English
Have confidence in own ability and be a true team player
Experience gained within the automotive industry is favourable
Personality
Maintaining a long-term relationship with our customers within the Volvo group is important.
Thus, you should be able to work independently, taking own initiatives to accomplish goals in creative and innovative ways
You will have the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget
Excellent communication skills and demonstrated presentation ability are necessary
