Through recent important acquisitions of world-leading contract manufacturers of implants and instruments to the medical industry, Sandvik Materials Technology has strengthened its position in the strategically important and rapidly growing medical segment. The result is a combination of expertise as a manufacturer of medical implants and of core competence in materials and surface technology development, machining and production, thus creating a unique company in the medical market.
We have established a dedicated Medical Quality and Service Team to drive quality and supply improvements within SMT's medical products and as such are looking to recruit one Medical Quality Specialist.
The ambition is to take medical product quality, delivery and customer service to a world class level and further enhance Sandvik's market position in this key niche application area.
The location of this position will primarily be Sandviken, however, it is expected that extensive overseas travel may be necessary on a regular basis to fulfill the job role. An element of direct external customer contact will also be required.
Key Performance Areas
• Map, update, enhance and maintain the material quality and information flow of medical products through the different production segments i.e. from contract signing, and delivery to customer and after sales service
• Identify gaps & improvement areas and formulate long term sustainable solutions
• Drive projects at high speed whilst meeting demanding targets and deadlines
• Achieve customer satisfaction in line with the high expectations of the medical market
• Initiate, support and follow up plans for process flow, process FMEA and process control together with production, QA and logistics functions of the involved Product Units
• Play an important role in supporting production staff and operators within the Product Units
• Liaise with the existing quality function within the Product Areas and provide 'hands on' support
Your profile
• At least two of following features are required in your profile
o A background or qualification in an Engineering based discipline e.g. machine, materials, physical metallurgy
o Relevant knowledge of manufacturing of tube, strip, wire or bars in alloyed steels and special alloys as well as experience from at least two of following processes: melting, billet rolling, hot rolling, forging, heat treatment, cold rolling, extrusion, pilgering and surface conditioning by pickling, scale turning, grinding etc.
o Relevant experience from working within production, R&D, QA, logistics or other related production activities at Sandvik Materials Technology
o Relevant experience from managing or taking part actively in high impact projects
