It is based on many years of research at the Swedish Institute of Computer Science (SICS). Our customers are multinational companies selling complex products such as machinery, fans, pumps, lifts, trucks, industrial gates, medical and biochemical equipment, telephone exchanges, software, etc.
We are now looking for MECHANICAL ENGINEERS interested in product configuration!
Tacton Configurator can be implemented and maintained by our customers themselves, but we have a consultancy organisation that can provide assistance in the initial stages when the customer's own resources are insufficient.
Job description
You will be working as a consultant in product configuration, helping our customers to increase the efficiency of their configuration and to present their products using our software.
You will be communicating directly with the customer's product management and designers, to understand their requirements and how their products can be configured. Based on this, you will construct configuration models for their products to work with our Configurator. You will benefit greatly from your technical know-how and broad experience of many different product types.
• The work is normally done in the form of projects, mostly at our office in Stockholm. We also work partly on site with customers. This will involve some business travel, both inside and outside Sweden.
• You will also train and coach our customers in building configuration models for their products.
• You will also have opportunities to work in technical support, helping our salespeople and partners to present our Configurator to potential customers.
Your background
• A higher degree (Swedish civilingenjör) in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical skills.
• Tacton's solutions are integrated into existing IT structures. It is therefore a plus if you have previously worked with market-leading ERP, CAD or PDM systems. Appropriate design experience in a 3D CAD environment is an advantage, as you may be working with our add-in product for SolidWorks (TactonWorks).
• Experience of manufacturing industry or industrial sales is an advantage.
• You must have a good spoken and written English. French, German, or Italian would be a plus.
