Volvo Autonomous Solutions (V.A.S) is a new entity within the Volvo Group with the mission to offer transport and material handling solutions never seen before. Our Team Geometry Architecture & Mechanical Design, within the Vehicle & Machines domain, is accountable for integrating the autonomous driving system hardware in a base truck or machine. In close cooperation with internal V.A.S. as well as Volvo Group Truck Technology (VGTT) and Volvo Construction Equipment (VCE) friends and colleagues we 're the ones that make the hardware puzzle fall into place.
We're a small team living the Mechanical Engineer Dream: Our field of responsibility spans from design for rapid prototyping to serial production. From metallic brackets to plastic design as well as complete mechanical system that builds up to cool products - And it's all carried out with the V.A.S. Concept Vehicle Lab just around the corner at the Camp X office and in a company culture where our possibility to impact the final design solution and the way of working is central.

We believe that the ultimate integration design is driven by passion and conscious decisions. Our path to get there is not always crystal clear, but together we find our way by requirements work, CAD modelling and packaging studies, by discussions, tests, measurements, and utilization of our collected experience and known best practice. We bring in aspects from automotive as well as machine field. To thrive at work, we aim to grow as individuals and colleagues and we "bless" our integration design as a team by internal feedback and review sessions. And when the correct maturity stage of the integration design is met, we document and release the solution and we are proud of our delivery!
Who are you?
You're a person that utilizes the benefits from being part of a team but also dares to take own initiatives and are actively looking for improvement. We believe you have broad experience from different mechanical engineering fields and at least 5 years work experience within mechanical engineering. You're used to work in CAD (Creo/Catia) environment both for creating 3D models and 2D documentation, and you 're familiar with the functionality of PLM-systems.
We also believe you have a good ability to adapt to changes and understand how external factors can impact the integration design will be important to succeed in this role since we 're designing new technology that is just about to take off! Experience from automotive is beneficial.
