There are still many challenges ahead of us and we are now looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a genuine interest in mechanics and mechanical design to strengthen our Mechanics teams.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As part of one of our Mechanics teams you will participate in both product development projects targeting our current generation of products as well as study components, modules, materials and technologies that may fit into our next generation of products.
Axis’ four mechanical teams in Lund are responsible for all mechanical design & development of new video products and accessories including all development phases from pre-study and concepts through to mass production.
To further raise the bar and keep our world leadership we continually strive to enhance and stream-line our development processes within all engineering domains. Your ideas, experience and contributions also in this field are also highly valued.
The mechanical design work is done in close cooperation with PCB CAD engineers, software engineers and electronic engineers in order to create an optimal hardware design and high quality products. You will also work together with the Operations department, assisting in production startup and optimization work as well as handle contacts with component distributors, subcontractors and manufacturers. You will thus be an important part of a strong team responsible for all the mechanics in the project from start to finish.
Limited travelling to our EMS-partners and suppliers, predominantly in Asia but also in Europe and US will be an important part of the job. Typically 1-2 weeks per year.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe that you have:
• Master or Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience, interest and talent in design and manufacturing of injection molded plastics and die casted metal parts is important for your success.
• Experience of high precision mechanics, small motors and moving parts will be a great asset in your daily work.
• Experience from product development targeted for volume production will be considered a plus.
• Proficiency in CAD and PLM tools is valuable, preferably CREO & Windchill.
• Cultural understanding and an openness towards people from other cultures and backgrounds is important. Excellent communicator, written and spoken, both Swedish and English.

We welcome both senior engineers and those of you with very little experience, even straight out of university.
THE MECHANICS TEAM
The Mechanics team is part of the Electronics and Mechanics department. Together with PCB CAD and electronic engineering teams we are responsible for the design and development of all the hardware in Axis products. We act as a knowledge center in this area and collaborate with other departments within R&D to develop our future products. The department works in close cooperation with units responsible for e.g. production, logistics, quality, support and product management.
