As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will have operational responsibility for a component or sub-module delivery. You will drive the work from an operational perspective and needs to have a capacity to work individually or with a small team actively to secure the deliverables. You will also lead mechanical design engineering activities in a particular area and play an active role in the delivery. Integrate deliveries from others and secure quality and readiness before release. Spread knowledge and develop competence within the team.
For this position, you will work with Cooling Fan Installation Components (fan shroud, fan ring etc).
The assignment will also include work for cooling module installation components if needed depending on team workload situation.

Key knowledge: Design of plastic parts
Key experience: Automotive/vehicle
Lead a defined area of technical expertise, with moderate technical complexity. Lead mechanical design engineering in a technical team. Have on holistic view on deliverables from other interfaces to secure quality & readiness before release. Spread knowledge and develop competence within the team. Develop and Manage networking across the organization and provide inputs to the project pre-requisites based on the component history.
About you
We are looking for candidates with a university degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent. You have minimum 5 years of experience within the field. Some experience from hardware or plastic development is necessary. Experience from automotive industry is mandatory. Furthermore, you are driven, have the capacity to work individually and in a group and has a structured way of working.

Qualifications
Bc or M Sc. In Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or in relevant area
Minimum 5 years ' experience from automotive industry.
Experience HW and plastic design
Experience in using Pro-E/Creo
Living in or near Gothenburg, Sweden with a valid working permit
Previous experience from Volvo Group systems is highly meritorious (e.g. KOLA).
Fluent in english and Swedish is merit.
