About Volvo Cars
At Volvo Cars Supply Chain Management, they manage and develop a global inbound supply chain that is constantly evolving to be ready for the future. They are now looking for a Logistics Engineer within the Inbound logistics Optimization team to strengthen their team and further strengthen our transformation journey.
Working together with internal and external stakeholders to find the best-in-class standards, tools, processes, and methods. They are a small team with EMEA responsibility, that is now looking for a colleague to complement their team of logistics engineers.
What you will do
At Inbound Logistics Optimization, you are part of a supply chain team that secures that right prerequisite is set to continuously run our transport network. To make this happen, they secure that all incoming transportation is planned, optimized, implemented, and executed, cost efficiently and with exact precision, to the entire Volvo Cars organization.
The team is split in planners and Launch & Master data teams.
The Launch and master data team has a EMEA responsibility to support the operational transports with efficiency and system settings in running business, during changes and in new implementation of flows.
They are the team that are going to secure that the transport standard network is implemented in all necessary systems and to all stakeholders in timely matter before going live.
They are also the team that are going to secure that the master data is always quality secured as well.
They are managing projects connected to our area, participation when larger projects require our participation and driving projects initiated in our area.
This is the team that are making sure that the bank holiday planning is set correct in our systems and that all stakeholders know the expectations and prerequisite in time to run. This team has 3 members including 2 senior logistic engineers and 1 team group leader.
You will work on strategic tasks & projects as well as managing hands on tasks & operational support while also having a responsibility for certain processes within the operations.
Launch and master data team main Responsibility:
Responsible that master data is implemented correctly in all systems and that its desk procedures are updated and correct.
Responsible for all routes, route implementation and its master data in the planning systems.
Coordinate continuous improvements with all involved departments.
Projects participation and lead for projects connected to our operations.
This role reports to the Head of Inbound logistics optimization
Main task / Key Activities
Route implementations & changes
Implement, follow up and monitor route settings continuously (running and for RFQs)
Bank holiday Planning
Yearly prolongation planning for all routes
Billing errors
Investigate and resolve errors in Alpega TMS
Master data implementations & changes
Implement, follow up and monitor master data continuously (running and for RFQs)
RFQ Implementation lead for IBL
Coordinate so that all changes handed over from engineering department gets implemented correctly for IBL
Change request (CR) & process development coordinators
Coordinate so that all CRs for the tactical department are handed over correctly to IT. Drive process development for tactical administrative tools in Power BI, FLS etc.
Project participation and project lead.
Do you fit the profile?
The ideal candidate has a university degree in Supply Chain Management, and minimum 3 years of working experience, preferably within Automotive.
Used to working in systems, they work in: TMS, Inet & Vista Analysis of Excel data
Experience in Power BI and Master Data
Experience from working in an international environment and having strong communication skills, building relations and trust on all levels is key for the role.
Being proficient and having an interest in managing and analyzing big data sets together with applying statistical methods is preferred. A sharp eye for details both in understanding complex problems, processes as well as numbers is one of your strengths, and you are able to translate all of this into clear and condensed presentations, visual and verbal.
As a person, you are self-driven with strong analytical and organizational skills and have the ability to achieve results. You have effective verbal and written communication, and you are motivated by working in a global organization and in cross functional teams.
We would like you to be experienced in working with projects. Project participation is a requirement project management skills, we see as a benefit.
