Manufacturing Engineering's role is to ensure the development out of a process-driven product development through early secure and coordinate the activities of Manufacturing Engineering development stage.

Commodity Manufacturing Engineering is one of the departments within Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering VCME. We prepare and implement quality assured, flexible and effective production systems in the Final Assembly plants. Our task is to ensure a process-driven product development by driving forward and coordinating Manufacturing Engineering activities in design and product development, with focus on production-effective product solutions.
Within Commodity Manufacturing Engineering, we are now looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for Cockpit, Seats & Restrains, situated in Sweden, Torslanda.
The overall purpose of the role is to:
* Assure flawless introduction of car programs into our plants.
* Lead and coordinate activities within area of responsibility.
* Continuously strive for commonality within our plants.
* Act as support when expertise competence is needed.
Main Tasks
Lead the cross technical product and production manufacturing work, as well as represent Manufacturing during prepare and implement phase within their own commodity area.
This means
Lead and coordinate the manufacturing process within R&D, represent Manufacturing Engineering and ensure the input to Analysis and Verification
You will ensure, drive and follow-up product and process feedback to Research & Development in order to fulfil the "six manufacturing attributes" - (quality, man hours, cost efficiency, environment, flexibility, and change over) within area of responsibility.
Other tasks is to create, upgrade, report instructions, checklists and concerns from Manufacturing Engineer perspective.
You will give input to the summary and report gate / milestone answers within the area and report status and deviations in decided systems/ tools and ensure that there are actions.
You are also asked to follow-up of cost within responsible area until the TSU phase.
Competence Requirements
* Technical competence at senior high school or university level is desirable.
* Practical experience of the production process.
* Knowledge about the processes, methods, and tools at Manufacturing and R&D.
* Fluent in Swedish and English, spoken and written.
* FMEA & DFA knowledge are desirable.

In this role you need to be structured, have analytic abilities and strong ability for cross functional and multi cultural teamwork. You are used to cooperate and communicate with different people in different roles, and you also have a positive and proactive attitude.
