Tools' Engineering Support department is part of the Global R&D function at Sandvik Mining and Construction (SMC). The teams main objectives are to develop, implement and support methods and processes in the area of CAD/CAM/PLM, for design and manufacturing of tools for the mining and construction industry.
Key performance areas
As Manager for Engineering Support your challenge is to take full advantage of the functionality in our CAD/CAM/PLM systems and move towards a PLM environment that will handle not only products but also manufacturing processes and resources. Your responsibilities include:
• Supporting the tools business with technical assistance in CAD/CAM/PLM
• Developing processes and working methods in CAD/CAM
• Creating training material and conduct training for the end users
• Participating in and leading initiatives in CAD and CAM automation
The position involves international travelling.
Your profile
To be a successful candidate for this position you must possess an MSc in Mechanical Engineering, or similar degree, and have experience from design and/or production technology. Knowledge of our CAD/CAM and PLM tools NX and Teamcenter is advantageous.
The ideal candidate has good leadership and pedagogical skills, with the ability to lead and motivate, both teams and individuals. Furthermore, you have good coaching skills, are a team player and have the ability to encourage people to think in new ways and find solutions. As an individual you are systematic, outgoing, a good judge of character and possess excellent communication skills. You are fluent in both written and spoken English.
