What you'll do:
The role of Logistics Engineer is located within the operational transport function within the Inbound Logistics organization (IBL) and will report to the Manager Road Operations & Control EMEA, however you will have a Senior Logistics Engineer to support you in the daily operations. The purpose of the Logistics Engineer role is to ensure that inbound and emballage transports are delivered on time, on budget and to the correct location. You will have a crucial role within the Inbound organization and for Volvo Cars overall. You will also lead and drive carrier management with the purpose to have high performing carriers delivering the best service. The Road Operations & Control team consists of 12 FTE in Sweden and 2 FTE in Belgium.
This role will involve integration into a shift system with first shift beginning at 0630hrs and last shift ending at 18:12hrs during weekdays. The working hours are aligned with Volvo Cars production which means that working hours may be planned on bank holidays and weekends.
The role is a high-paced operational position with critical timelines in order to secure the running of Volvo Cars production sites in Europe.
Do you fit the profile?
We think you have a B.Sc. degree within Supply chain/Logistics or equivalent relevant working experience and fluency in English both spoken and written. If you have an operational background and/or experience in logistic processes, transportations or forwarding business that knowledge is highly beneficial.
Who are you?
To succeed in this role you have a strong knowledge and experience in MS Excel and understand operational planning and resource allocation. As you will interact with different stakeholders, internally and externally you have great communication skills. A Global environment gives you additional drive and energizes you and you enjoy working with different partners outside the company.
You have proven ability to be accurate and detail oriented because this will be need in your daily tasks. As a person, your strengths lie in knowing when to prioritize and at the same time work analytically and have a problem solving manner. To conclude you are team oriented with a holistic approach and you enjoy working with tasks where you use your communicative skills. You work with a positive and innovative mind-set that everything is possible.
