The purpose of the Road Transport Control and Multi Modal night function is to ensure inbound transportation execution for production material to plants, warehouses and consolidation centresa as well as outbound transport execution for production material to plants, where applicable. This function is critical to manage the timely shipping and arrival of production material on a daily basis.
The role, Logistics Engineer - Central Road Transport Control and Multi Modal night shift, is located within the Operational transport function within the Inbound Logistics organisation (IBL) and will report to the Manager Scheduling & Road Transport Control. The role is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Main responsibilities
• Handle road and premium transport related (inbound and packaging) bookings, issues and deviations addressed by carriers and stakeholders
• Handle transport requests and enquiries during the period 2212-0500hrs as the first point of contact, regardless of whether this relates to standard or premium transport
• Monitor and follow up on road and premium cases when handed over by evening shift
• Monitor and secure critical parts list related to each plants priorities
• Handle incoming flow of label less goods that arrives to cross dock in Gothenburg
• Distribute night report to Road Transport Control and Multi Modal team
• Distribute night report to concerned plant and inbound logistics if issues to report out!
• Coordinate and secure inbound processes located in gate house function
• Authority to implement new transport solutions either after deviations or for new premium transport requests (including air charter) during the hours 2212-0500
Required qualifications
• Ability to work night shift
• Solid operational logistics experience, preferably from inbound logistics or freight forwarding
• Broad experience of road, and air freight is advantageous but not essential
• Knowledge of carriers operations
• Ability to work alone and be accountable for own decisions, however not afraid to ask for help/escalation when needed
• An educational degree in logistics preferred
• Understanding of complete material flows and value streams is meritorious
• Fluent in English, written and spoken

• Proven abilities to perform well under pressure
• High integrity and professionalism
• Service minded with good communication and coordination skills
• Good ability to take action independently in case of unplanned situations
