Are you passionate about transportation and want to reach your personal goals together with other people? Join the group Inbound Logistics as a Local Transportation Controller.
Our mission is to plan, secure and spread the transport flow of all production material to the right place on the right time and the right cost, for European stakeholders.
For this specific position, we are looking for a motivated person who can control and manage the incoming transports of production material into Volvo Cars Torslanda (VCT) and Logistic Center Gothenburg (LCGot), and the outgoing flows from G-plant towards Volvo Cars Ghent (VCG) and the outgoing flows from Olofström.
Main responsibilities
* Daily transport operations connected to inbound shipments for production arriving day 0 and day 1 for VCT and LCGot
* Daily transport operations connected to outbound shipments for production from Olofström/G-plant to VCG/VCT (train, V-chassis and Big Johns)
* Perform all local planning activities and connect towards other departments if needed (Material Planning & Logistics local, Material Planning & Logistics central, Purchasing)
* Make time slot planning for inbound transportation
* Support development of a customised, standardised, cost efficient and reliable transport solution that suites the local plant
* Support, guide, control and evaluate the transport processes installed at the specific plant as well as initiating corrective actions if necessary to improve and optimize the operational logistics processes and concepts between Inbound Logistics and VCC units
* Replace Local transportation colleagues in daily tasks when planned vacation or illness at VCT, LCGOT and Olofström
* Ensure through constant improvements that the area of responsibility meets the targets (budget, lead-time, frequency, utilisation, quality and benchmark costs)
* Align with overall objectives and secure implementation results
Required qualifications
* Knowledge and/or experience of transportation handling, inbound logistics and/or freight forwarding processes
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Understanding of complete material flows and value stream mapping is meritouris
* Experience of transportation management, Plant Logistics or supply chain is a plus
* Home based in Göteborg but willingly to travel on a frequent base to Olofström
