Volvo Cars Engine (VCE), a unit within Volvo Cars Manufacturing, manufactures propulsion system and components for Volvo Cars. VCE Manufacturing Engineering (VCE ME) is managing the development of the production strategies and systems. Our mission is to develop highly efficient production systems and processes for machining, assembly and testing for all propulsion plants within Volvo Cars Corporation.
Now we are looking for a Line & Equipment Engineer, who will make sure that our manufacturing systems, that build our propulsion systems, are developed to meet the future demands and secure our customer's expectations. The main role is to maintain and be a part of our global VCE Manufacturing Engineering team and act on global level. There are business travels to expect on this position, which will take place few times per year on different locations, mainly in Europe and China but also in other areas.

As a Line & Equipment Engineer within Manufacturing Engineering you will have global responsibility for designing assembly system for combustion and electric propulsion engines within Volvo Cars Engine.

Main responsibilities
* Preparation of assembly systems for combustion and electric propulsion engines in a global environment
* Manage development of manufacturing solutions considering global and local aspects for local implementation
* Manage and preparing global manufacturing concepts, including launch, ready for local implementation for programs, running changes and capacity increase at VCE plants
* Improve methods and processes to meet future demands and company goals
* Work cross-functional within the department and together with other departments such as design, research and development
Required qualifications
* B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical engineering or other equivalent field with relevant experience
* At least five years of experience in manufacturing and assembling systems or constructions
* Experience in project management and leadership skills
* Experience of industrial systems, procedures and organizations
* Automotive and international working experience are a merit
* Knowledge in Volvo Cars systems is meritorious
* Fluent in English (written and spoken), Swedish is beneficial
* Driver's license "B"

You should have the ability to come up with fast solutions when necessary and a strong strategic mindset to make proactive changes of our processes. You should be open-minded, have a holistic point of view, and also be adaptable and flexible, specifically regarding different business culture and approaches. Further, you should possess excellent communication skills, hence to global and cross-functional environment. Moreover, you need good social skills and act as a team player in global perspective. You should be steady, self-driven with high level of integrity and adherence to aspired culture and lean leadership.
