Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Lead Engineer - Chassis to strengthen our team in Gothenburg.
The role:
The Lead Engineer is responsible to develop Steering Column and Dash Sill of project and ensure technical and commercial aspects of project deliverables. Main activities rely on design/development of parts and supplier management during project development. In parallel, participating in either supporting or leading activities to ensure the quality of current products.
An ideal candidate would build strong relationships and work effortlessly across multiple engineering departments such as manufacturing, supplier quality, purchasing, service as well as rest of program management teams.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for establishing, planning and running the engineering sub system meetings to ensure appropriate cross functional representation and input from all relevant areas. You will have responsibility for:
Provide leadership and guidance within your defined module where new engineering systems and components are developed.
Managing the team, planning projects and reporting on progress to management.
Attend key meetings, co-ordinate cross-functional reviews.
Ensure your Module progression of design initial concept through to Engineering Sign-Off and design gateways
Set and deliver Cost & weight targets for module.
Ensure Regulatory compliance of all chassis aggregates (steering Column and Dash Sill etc.)
Define and deliver appropriate system-level engineering targets to meet function, quality and attribute requirements of the Vehicle Program
Ensure that all products meet the specification requirements and project targets through a documented DV/PV
Keep track and ensure resolution of all Validation issues.
Develop System Design Specifications incorporating engineering standards, test procedures and material specifications.
Facilitate Failure Mode Avoidance activities including DFMEA, quality history reviews development tests.
Ensuring all relevant documentation as per ISO & quality standards.
Lead the resolution of design trade-offs, attribute or packaging incompatibilities through the appropriate cross-functional meetings
Support Purchasing team in Sourcing and RFQ activities.
Support vehicle launch and pre-production builds (both virtual and physical)
Ensuring the effective application of APQP to manage Module delivery.
Knowledge/experience:
Proven program management capability demonstrated by recent delivery in line with time, Cost, quality & attribute targets.
Demonstrate you have delivered at least 1 program from concept to SOP.
Ability to lead cross teams.
Ability to develop timing plan for complex programs, understating of financial implications.
Proven experience and deep knowledge in development and/or integration of Chassis aggregates (subframe, steering, suspension etc.)
Engineering knowledge of defined component(s) / system(s) design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirement
Excellent communications skills, demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels
Liaise with supplier, Manufacturing, CAE & Validation Teams.
PC Literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc.,
CAD Literacy: Ability to review CAD data in Catia, Teamcenter
Good understanding of BOM management, tracking changes to parts, tools
Significant experience in use of engineering tools FMEA, Six Sigma, etc.
Experience from working in an Agile environment is a plus.
Fluent spoken/written English, Swedish is a plus.
Preferable if he/she has Swedish Driver's license.
Valid work permit for Sweden
Qualification:
B.Sc. BE/B. Tech in Mechanical/Production/ Automotive Engineering or Similar M.Sc. is meritorious.
