Ytsab Defence AB is an innovative Swedish defence company developing next-generation electromagnetic weapon systems. We are currently involved in several high-profile EU-funded R&D projects and are looking for a talented and hands-on Laboratory Engineer to join our core technical team.
About the Role:
As our Laboratory Engineer, you will play a key role in the daily operation of our R&D lab. You will manage and support experimental setups, instrumentation, and data acquisition - working closely with our engineers on cutting-edge defence technologies.
Responsibilities:
Set up and maintain experimental rigs, test benches, and instrumentation
Conduct lab tests and measurements on electromagnetic systems
Document procedures, results, and technical findings for internal and EU project reporting
Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot, improve, and refine prototypes
Ensure a safe, organized, and efficient lab environment
Qualifications:
Degree or vocational training in electronics, mechatronics, or applied physics
Practical experience in lab environments (R&D, prototyping, or test labs)
Strong hands-on skills: soldering, wiring, measurements, using oscilloscopes/multimeters
Ability to write clear technical documentation in English
Flexible, methodical, and self-driven with problem-solving mindset
Bonus: Familiarity with EU research projects or defence technologies
