Business Infrastructure Management
Business Infrastructure Management is a global department in charge of IT Infrastructure & end user services for all TD/BAs, which encompasses:
All "end-user IT workplace" services (IT equipment, MyPlace client, Telephony, IT helpdesk, Desktop applications, collaboration workplace including and Sharepoint Online, etc)
As well as common and shared IT services such as Network (Wired ethernet network, WiFi, fiber, and other specialized connect services), Printing and Identity management services (User Accounts)
POSITION DESCRIPTION
General
Group Trucks Technology (GTT) Business Infrastructure Manager
GTT is a division within AB Volvo securing that the Volvo Brand is developed and designed in line with market expectations and global sustainability guidelines. GTT does today have approximately 7500 employees and consultants acting on a global arena.
The role of the business infrastructure manager is to manage the mentioned services for GTT by
Capturing business needs and translate them into deliveries or services development, communicate about our solutions, manage the budgets and the quality, etc...
It is also vital to have an open mind coming to communication with all levels within the GTT organization to accomplish their business needs.
In this role, you will be part of a functional team of 3 business infrastructure managers working for GTT, and reporting to the manager of GTT & VGHQ BIM team, IOS, Group IT.
Role mission & context
The mission is to make sure the offer, the delivery and usage of IT services enable GTT to meet its business goals and deliverables. You are responsible to fulfill this mission over your assigned service portfolio and/or geographical scope.
You operate in a global context, having a number of interfaces to other functions such as GTT D&IT, the different entities within IOS enabling our services, SDU RnDP, our partner HCL, other IT stakeholders within Volvo Group, as well as with a relevant network of GTT business stakeholders within your scope.
Key Responsibilities
Capture GTT business needs in terms of new IT services and address them within Group IT strategies, service development and deployment roadmaps / projects
Plan, prioritize and process GTT requests for existing IT services until final delivery together with our internal decision bodies
Manage relationship & dialog with relevant Business- and Group IT stakeholders for Infrastructure & IT services
Coordinate site IT contacts community & related operations regionally for a consistent user experience at main GTT sites within your regional scope
Drive deployment and efficient adoption of new IT services within your GTT scope
Drive efficient usage of existing IT services within your GTT regional scope and compliance with applicable guidelines and policies
As a member of the Business Infrastructure Management, contribute to the Infrastructure Portfolios Service Strategy and Design work done by the Service Management Team
Authority
Challenge and authorize demands and requests coming from GTT
Decide what demands and requests coming from your GTT scope that must be prioritized to meet Service deployment and IT equipment budget frames
Influence and Initiate service deployment initiatives for your GTT scope, within the strict budget frames allocated by IOS
WANTED PROFILE
General
As a Business Infrastructure Manager, you will create an efficient and trustful day-to-day operation. You have proven experience as a leader and excel in behaving according to the Volvo Group values.
Since you are part of a global unit, with global responsibilities, you will need to actively cooperate with various stakeholders and navigate with ease in a multi-cultural environment.
You are also expected to have a strong business mindset and a personal drive to reach the objectives and targets set for your unit, understanding how these contribute to the Volvo Group vision and strategy. A broad knowledge of RD&P key processes and business solutions, as well as a proven experience in working/delivering for GTT functions is a strong merit.
The role is very similar to what could be considered a technical account manager with frequent and direct end-user dialogue as well as business management and executives. Business uptime and seamless service usage is of critical importance and requires a very adaptive, flexible mindset and problem-solving abilities.[MS1]
To succeed in the role, you do also have to be service minded, act as the Single Point of Contact for your area of responsibility creating a seamless interface for the client allowing them to focus on their key chores.
Required Competencies
Relevant degree of education
Strong experience in IT infrastructure design and/or delivery and/or support
Good insight in both legacy- as well as future network architectures
Business oriented, ability to manage interactions with business stakeholders
Significant project management culture
Experience in defining requirements and building business cases
Excellent prioritization skills and ability to eliminate roadblocks
Able to learn of the fly when facing new problems
Leadership experience (project, functional or line manager)
Excellent communication- & presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Complete proficiency in English
"Advanced user" or architect knowledge about one or several of the IT Services is a plus
