Volvo Car Engine, which is part of Manufacturing & Logistics, produces engines and components at the production sites in Zhangjiakou, China, and Skövde, Sweden. To our site in Skövde we are now looking for an HR Director to join the HR management team for Manufacturing & Logistics. You will lead a local HR team supporting Volvo Car Engine with both operational and tactical HR activities. You will report to the Senior HR Director for Manufacturing & Logistics with a dotted line to VP Volvo Car Engine.
Main responsibilities
• Lead, coach and develop the local HR team and ensure that they have the right capabilities to deliver their part in the people strategy - to become the employer of choice
• Act within the business unit and serve as an account manager i.e., accountable for all HR deliverables in the business unit.
• Together with the HR team and management teams .Drive business transformation, primarily focus on HR strategic activities influencing the business agenda
• Identify the organizational capabilities required to execute the business strategy
• Champion the HR initiatives in the business unit
• Translate business needs/improvement areas into HR requirements and actions
• Proactively develop, support and monitor actions linked to improved organizational health and increased performance.
• Collaborate within the HR function to secure innovative HR solutions and efficiency in HR services
Required qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of experience from a line leadership role
• University degree within Human Resources Management
• Experience from HR in a complex business environment in an international context
• High level of understanding of all HR processes and policies
• Change management and coaching skills
• Experience from working with strategic workforce/resource planning
• Competence in Performance Management (maximizing engagement, motivation and productivity)
Personal qualities
• Role model of Volvo Cars Culture and leadership behaviours
• Excellent ability to create trustful relations and collaboration with all kinds of stakeholders for an HR position
• Drives change and implementation with energy, courage and commitment
• Strong integrity and ability to address difficult issues
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong ability to organise multiple tasks, structure, plan and get things done
• Fluent in English, oral and written
