We are now strengthening our Shared Products & Platforms (SPP) team with a Head of UX, to lead the design and UX work to build a great shared main publisher product platform for our end users.

To achieve this we believe in dedicated teams that work well together, that focus on our users' needs and that have a great collaboration with the existing brands to build successful products that engage and inspire our users.

We are looking for someone with several years experience in UX, leadership and design strategy. You are proactive, open-minded, not afraid to speak up and spread your knowledge. You are also a great collaborator that can navigate complex organisational landscapes.

You will report to the Director of UX and be part of the UX Management team.

You will also be part of the Shared Product & Platform Leadership team, together with the Head of Product & Engineering for our three domains.

The SPP leadership team is responsible for:

Building and nurturing high performing teams

Setting the direction for the respective domains, and execute on the SPP strategy and roadmap

UX culture at Schibsted:

At Schibsted News Media we have a large bunch of designers and researchers that are proud of being part of strengthening democracy in Scandinavia and we are all working on different aspects of a media company. You will be a part of this extended and super experienced team, and in this team we share knowledge, meet at UX gatherings, run collaborative design critique sessions and meet up for social events.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

Managing and mentoring the UX'ers and Designers in the Shared Products & Platforms team

-
Setting clear goals and strategies, managing resources accordingly, adhering to the product roadmap and guiding your team members towards growth and success

-
Making sure that you and your team follow the best UX practices and research methods

-
Engaging the entire UX team in championing design methodologies and best practises

-
Facilitating collaboration with product management, engineering and research teams to ensure successful product development and an overall understanding of our user's needs

-
Recruiting and attracting talents to our organisation

-
Operational work: Leading and contributing to projects as much as the time allows

-
Helping to build an inspiring culture and workplace, together with the other managers

-
Developing and contributing to our UX community and share the best UX and research practice across the organization

Bridging UX at Shared Products & Platforms team with our brands teams, Consumer Business, Advertising Solutions, and collaborating in shared initiatives.

You have the following core competences:

Passion for managing and developing people

-
Ability to gather, understand, analyze and share data, research and experimentation to inform decision-making, drive optimization and promote an insights driven culture

Passion for creating high-performing teams of creative people

-
Ability to work closely with engineering, product management and user research teams in order to design experiences that are technologically feasible and meet the business lines and user needs

You have the following experience and skills:

Proven experience in a management or leadership role for a large UX team

-
Several years of UX design or UX research experience

-
Understanding of usability and user experience principles

Product & Tech is responsible for product development and technology platforms for News Media brands. The unit consists of product managers, software engineers, UX experts, and user researchers. Most of our teams work distributed, with colleagues in Oslo, Stockholm, Krakow, Gdansk, Bergen, and Stavanger.
