The H&M group is a family of unique brands, united by common passions. We are here to help people across the world to express their personality through fashion and design, to lead our industry towards a sustainable future. We share a value driven way of working, based on a fundamental respect for the individual. Our shared values help create an open, dynamic and down-to-earth company culture where anything is possible.
The Laboratory is the innovation hub of the H&M Group. Our mission is to help prepare the company for the future by challenging the way we do business. The Laboratory aims to provide an outside-in perspective to our business from the industry we operate in, and from society and technology at large, and as such, challenge the organization's thinking. We do that through our research, tests and by building strong external networks. We hold an act, learn and adapt work approach where new learnings are our most valuable output. We test new things - business models, revenue streams or/and ways of working. All our projects and tests are data driven, so our tech/data competence in the team is important to secure our output. Everything we do, we do with an entrepreneurial mindset and with a test approach to learn, tweak, improve, test again... Our ultimate goal is to secure our business for the future.
The Laboratory's main hub is in Stockholm where most of our team is based today. However we also have hubs in Berlin, Singapore and soon to be - San Francisco. All in all, the organization holds around 30 FTE's but the team is in fact much bigger as the projects are set up with mixed team members, bringing in consultants, start-ups and accelerators who are experts in different fields and can bring outside-in perspectives and solutions. The team is highly business oriented and includes roles such as business developers, project managers, researchers and business analysts.
