Description
Functions: Global SHE, Chemical Hazard Information and Registration Team.
Description: Responsible for coordinating the delivery of the global SDS service including providing technical expertise to support global business with the interpretation and implementation of demands related to GHS, REACH and global chemical legislation to ensure compliance within AZ
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
• Coordinate a team of regulatory scientist in the production, revision and distribution of Safety Data Sheets required for AZ substances to meet the business's legal responsibilities.
• Compile, and revise Safety Data Sheets including carrying out hazard classifications for the supply of hazardous materials, which will include self-classification and input to computer systems - SAP EH&S.
• Provide technical advice to the Global business on the various activities in the area of Hazard Information/Communication and Safety Data Sheets.
• Coordinate GHS activities for the global business including tracking GHS legislation, coordinating implementation activities and organizing training in the areas for the relevant department.
• Coordinate the administrative input for REACH registrations, including collecting any test results and in-house process related information for the timely submissions of dossiers.
• Liaise with experts in the field of physical chemistry, occupational and environmental toxicology, as well as Business Engagement Managers, EH&S leads across different departments, and functions to ensure global compliance within AZ.
• Maintain awareness of changes to the regulatory status of materials.
Minimum Requirements - Education and Experience
The job holder should be a graduate in the biological/chemical sciences or equivalent with experience of compiling and producing Safety Data Sheets and preparing dossiers in the Chemical industry or related business with a good understanding of Chemical legislation (Directives 67/548/EEC, 1999/45/EC, GHS and REACH).
