The ideal applicant will have established an independent line of research and received funding as the main applicant from major granting agencies. We welcome applicants working within a broad range of subjects within the field of biomedicine, e.g. medical biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and molecular genetics. The Institute includes a number of thriving research environments divided into 6 different departments, including the Dept of Infectious Diseases, Dept of Microbiology and Immunology, Dept of Pathology, Dept of Clinical Chemistry and Transfusion Medicine, Dept of Medical and Clinical Genetic, and the Dept of Medical Biochemistry and Cell Biology. The location of the position will depend on the research profile of the successful candidate. Göteborg University will provide good infrastructure, laboratory space, and an internationally competitive research environment. The Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and a successful and well-documented postdoctoral experience.
Applicants should submit a CV and bibliography, a short description of current and planned research, and names and addresses (including e-mail addresses) of three scientists that can provide references. The position will involve research and teaching. For this reason the application should include a description of previous experience of university level teaching and formal training in pedagogy.

The application should be organized as follows:
Curriculum vitae (max 2 pages). In the CV, please specify any current research grants and their subject, as well as any ongoing applications. It is important that you indicate any significant career breaks, e.g. maternal or paternal leaves. We will take it into consideration during the assessment of the quality and potential of the application. Also list current members of you research team.
Teaching experience and formal training in pedagogy. (max 2 pages)
Scientific track record (max 2 page) describing your early scientific contributions to your own research field. Please indicate your most important findings.
Early achievements track record (max 2 pages): The applicant should list
1. Original research publications, as main author (please indicate those together with your PhD or Postdoc supervisor) and also indicate the number of citations (excluding self-citations) they have attracted.
2. Other publications (e.g. reviews, research monographs, chapters in collective volumes, etc.)
3. Granted patent(s) (if applicable).
4. Invited presentations to peer-reviewed, internationally established conferences
5. Organisation of International conferences (membership in the steering and/or programme committee)
6. International Prizes/Awards/Academy memberships (if applicable).
7. Memberships to Editorial Boards of International Journals (if applicable).
A current scientific research program (max 5 pages): The program should give a concise presentation of the scientific proposal, with particular attention to its ground-breaking nature and how it may open up new horizons or opportunities for research.
