Purpose of the job:
Within Freight management IT is one of the most important success factors. We are now looking for a Global IT Manager to our Infrastructure team.
Managing the Selection, Implementation and Operational Management of the IT Infrastructure (including the WAN infrastructure to the different locations) ensuring adequate and effective support to service the business
Making sure future capacity requirements can be managed by the different service providers
Managing IT Procurement processes varying from Data centre selection to IT equipment
Achieving the agreed service levels within budget
Be responsible for the strategic direction and planning for the Geodis Wilson Global Infrastructure.
Essential Education and / or Training Qualifications and Certificates
Deep technical knowledge.
Strong background with many years experience in IT, preferably in logistics and forwarding and/or University degree, preferably in IT and/or Business Management. Formal training in leadership and people skills is valuable.
Preferred Experience and Knowledge:
5-7 years of experience in IT environment, including architectural design
Experience from management roles within an international company, familiarity with cultural differences
Proven line and project management experience and a solid understanding of working within a networked business
Proven experience in International IT project and operations management.
And/or:
• In-depth experience and knowledge of all technical aspects of IT systems. This includes hardware, software, systems effectiveness, and organizational considerations, cost & time estimating and project control
• Considerable experience with the integration of the most common operating systems
• Freight forwarding knowledge is an advantage, but not required
Necessary Technical / Functional Skills:
Knowledge of hardware, network and application functionality
Conceptual knowledge of ERP systems and databases
Fluent in English, required for smooth operation of business.

Pro-active, interested in and able to find solutions, able to work with and motive a team. A manager with a hands-on attitude towards work, management and change. Flexible. Strong leadership, teambuilding and communication skills
• Ability to translate customer needs into business supporting solutions
• Quality focus, willingness to stay on top of up-to-date developments in network and hardware technology
• Well organized with interest to develop structures, methods and tools
