The Business Segments department is responsible for our core industry segments (Aerospace, Automotive, and Energy) and Application Management. The department is currently expanding to deliver a new business offer with a requirement for a Global Component Specialist focusing on the automotive industry segment.
The location for this position is flexible.
Key performance areas
As the Global Component Specialist, Automotive, you will be responsible for the offer of component solutions within the automotive industry. The work is conducted in a global network of specialists and in key markets, in order to develop knowledge about the component solutions, understand customer needs, and gather information regarding market requirements and trends. You will have close cooperation with the Business Segment Manager for Automotive, as well as application development, sales units and customers.
Your main responsibilities include:
• Mapping of components and identifying needs within Automotive, based on a the global Automotive strategy
• Provide information to Coromant's Component portfolio
• Initiating new component solutions within Automotive
• Supporting projects in the development of new component solutions
• Introducing new component solutions
• Component solution lifecycle management - responsibility for current best practice
• Technical support for training and customer visits
• Technical support regarding service requests from our sales units
The position involves traveling.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in engineering or professional experience in machining and manufacturing. You also have a good technical understanding of the metal-cutting industry, and we expect you to have a genuine technical understanding and strong business interest in ensuring a competitive component offering for Coromant. Professional experience from the automotive industry is advantageous.
As a person you are self-motivated, with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. You are creative and open to change, with the ability to share your knowledge with others and to prioritize tasks. The position involves a number of international contacts and traveling; therefore, excellent skills in English, both spoken and written, are required. We place great importance on personality and previous experience in the field.
