The position in short:
The Global Applications team holds deep knowledge in industries from Food, Beverage and Pharma to Ethanol, Sugar, Starch, Edible oil and Muncipal waste. Within the Business Unit Food Heat Transfer the application expertise is one of the absolute key values that is brought to the sales companies. To further strengthen this team Alfa Laval is looking for a people oriented leader with solid process experience and interest.
This is a new position and it entails leading a global team of seven experts, where your focus will be both on leadership and to contribute operatively technically. With your leadership you will have the chance to provide the best conditions for every team member to develop to his or her full potential. All while excelling the operational application support to the Alfa Laval Sales Companies around the world by setting the direction for the team and following up on these strategies.
The Global Applications team is also the motor for the main application development in the Business Unit. As the manager for the team, you will have the opportunity to spearhead these initiatives and drive development, based on the team's and industry insight. You will also take part in creating business strategies for the different industries within Food Heat Transfer and lead the execution at the same time.

Qualifications:
We want you to have a technical education on a MSc level and at least five years of working experience in a technical role. You have experience from the processing industry and from at least one of the relevant industries mentioned above. You have a great interest and some sort of experience within management, e.g. Project Management and want to work both as a leader and operatively technically. You also have proficient knowledge in the English language.
It will be seen as a merit if you have knowledge and experience in design of Heat Exchangers.
You find it inspiring to work with people and you naturally take initiatives and want to be involved in technical and commercial decisions. You are a flexible leader, who leads by example and who's way of working is defined by drive and structure. To be successful you need to be communicative, responsive and your communication style is distinct and transparent. We think that you enjoy creating structure and strategies for the team to help them develop and reach personal and team goals.
