Geophysicist
The position
In the coming years, LKAB plans to significantly increase the supply of iron ore products by 35 percent to 35-40 million tons per year.
A new exploration department has been built up since 2011, to ensure the supply of raw material. The department is responsible for identifying and mapping new discoveries and find additional supplements of iron ore in the mine LKAB already has today. The department consists of 13 persons.
Duties
• You shall work with geologists find effective geophysical measurement programs for various explorations.
• You shall independently add up measuring programs and interpret measurements.
• You will lead the department's development of software for processing and interpretation of measurements.
• In the future, you can lead a small measuring group.
• You will work closely with geologists.
Education
• You have a university degree in geology or geophysics.
Experience
• You have preferably 3 years experience in exploration, but also graduates with some experience, and you with long experience, are very welcome to apply.
• You have any experience in mineral exploration, ire ore or sulphide ore.
• Do you have some experience from oil exploration or oil geophysics, you are welcome to apply.
• You mastered magnetic, gravimetric and electrical / electromagnetic methods.
• You are fluent in English.
Personal characteristics
• You have good communications skills, and easy to collaborate with colleagues.
• You are analytical and driven.

Location
You will be located in Kiruna or Gällivare, Sweden.
