What you will do

As a Functional Safety Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our electric vehicle systems. You will lead the functional safety activities across various projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
You will contribute in raising awareness on the importance of functional safety in the organization. Perform safety management tasks, in accordance with current active safety norms, for each step of a project. You will verify safety plans for each development phase to ensure that they adhere to ISO 26262. Oversee and manage the creation of documentation on functional safety, in adherence to ISO 26262. Establish the requirements for all safety measures pertaining to systems, sub-systems, and components for the Electric propulsion control.
You will work with other Functional Safety Managers to ensure that our products can be integrated in a complete vehicle. In addition, you will also have interfaces to our suppliers, both internal and external, to ensure that the distributed safety work delivers what is needed to the right quality and in time.
To be efficient in your work, it is crucial that you build trust with colleagues and management, as well as being a support to the development engineers whenever questions and needs arises.

The Electric Propulsion System division sets the strategies, concepts and requirements around System Architecture, System and embedded software constituting the link between the electric management system and the mechanical propulsion system. This means delivering design, implementation, verification, safety, and quality assurance for state-of-the-art propulsion functions for electrical vehicles.

To make this a success you will lead, creating and continuous updating ISO 26262 safety plan and safety case of the project. You will work closely with the project manager, customer's safety organization and product development teams to ensure achieving functional safety in the project. Define the safety related responsibilities in the project and allocate the safety activities with the internal and external resources. Integrate the safety activities in the overall project planning with project manager. Coordinate the safety related activities and monitor the progress during the project to ensure compliance with the safety plan and standards.
Coordinate/ control the internal and external interfaces related to safety (e.g. suppliers, project members etc.). Maintain and develop functional safety processes, rules and guidelines to comply with ISO 26262 requirements. Ensure that the required safety confirmation measures (confirmation reviews, safety assessment, safety audit) are performed. Lead continuous improvement of a good safety culture that supports and encourages the effective achievement of functional safety.
Background & Skills
• 3+ years of experience, in a stakeholder management role from a technical environment.
• Excellent communication and change management skills.
• Ability to empower teams for autonomy and self-determination.
• 3+ years of experience leading and managing safety work in the automotive area.
• Experience in leading safety analysis, e.g., Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment, Fault Tree Analysis, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis.
• Detailed knowledge in ISO 26262. Experience from working with other safety standards is beneficial.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, e.g., computer, electrical, and mechatronics.
