• Supports in embedding the AZ Supply System in the Global Quality function.
• Assists in establishing suitable education & training plans and delivers training in lean processes/tools (eg Practical Problem Solving, Lean leadership, Visual Management, Business Process Management)
• Provides coaching in Lean principles and Lean leadership
• Ensures that the functional Lean implementation plans and business processes align with global Lean strategies and adhere to the standard Lean implementation processes
• Assesses execution of the standard Lean processes and practices through Lean Maturity Reviews and other means to provide assurance of compliance and feedback on process effectiveness
• Drives continuous improvement and consistency in Lean implementation across functional teams, leveraging and incorporating both internal and external best practice.
• Represents the Lean Program as member of relevant cross-functional AZ and external Lean forums/ organisations/ communities of practice.
• Leads global quality projects aimed at implementing new regulatory requirements.
• Leads global Quality improvement projects eg. standardisation and simplification of global quality processes
• Coaches other project leads in principles of Portfolio and Project Management
• In accordance with BPM best practices, ensures Global Lean Implementation processes start to finish is understood and applied in an effective and efficient manner.
Essential knowledge and skills
• Educated to undergraduate degree level or higher in a Manufacturing, Engineering or related technical/business discipline
• Demonstrates significant industry related experience in Lean/Six Sigma projects and programs
• Expertise in process & project management and improvement
• Proven experience from leading projects and applying project management tools
• A track record of delivering business impact and sustained change and demonstrated understanding and application of change management principles
• Working knowledge of concepts contained within AZ Supply System design
Desirable knowledge and skills
• Six Sigma (or Lean Six Sigma) Black Belt certification and/or certification from an accredited external Quality program
• Expertise in the application of analytical problem solving methodology
• Proven experience and formal certification in project management methodologies
• Understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practice and regulations as defined by local regulatory bodies
• In depth knowledge of Lean best practice from the external world and other related industries
Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Strategy & Portfolio within the Corporate Quality organization the role holder is responsible for the implementation of Lean principles and processes in global quality functions and will also lead global quality projects. The role holder is expected to be Subject Matter Expert in the AZ Supply System (Lean & Manufacturing Excellence methodologies), providing expert support and technical leadership in its functional implementation and lead the work to standardize, develop & improve global transactional processes, ensuring correct and consistent implementation. Successfully coach & develop capabilities in others to successfully implement AZ supply system in Global Quality. The role holder could also take on the role as global business process owner (BPO) of a global Lean process. The role holder is expected to have significant application experience of Lean principles, processes, tools, behaviors & leadership and a comprehensive understanding of how Lean principles and tools are applied in an administrative environment for transactional processes. Leading global Quality projects aiming at improving global quality processes and/or projects for implementing new regulatory requirement ensuring business processes comply with new regulations is also part of the role remit
