Your Role and Responsibilities:
Join our team to create a workplace for the future! As part of building a new ABB Robotics Campus, we are implementing a new Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for industrial robot production. As one of twelve skilled engineers in our Factory IT & Digitalization department, you will be a central part of our MES implementation project and you will meet a lot of new challenges and opportunities on the way.
The MES engineer works in close collaboration with the production engineering teams and is an active part in analyzing, implementing, developing and supporting MES and interfaces to surrounding systems. This requires programming skills and an interest for the manufacturing processes from different perspectives: operator, quality engineering, quality assurance, logistics, etc.
You will be a part of a small group, where your broad and deep developing experience is vital. Since we are in an intensive project phase, you will be both a mentor for others in developer skills, as well as an adept in understanding our complex production. Support business analysts and complement their work with technical developer's perspective.
Implement and develop MES for robot production.
Collaborate with production teams to analyze and support MES and its interfaces.
Utilize programming skills to enhance manufacturing processes from various perspectives.
Mentor and support business analysts with technical expertise.
Qualifications for the Role
Bachelor's or master degree with 3+ years of related work experience.
Strong developer skills in C#, .Net and SQL with experience both from pure database calls and ORM e.g. Entity Framework.
Analytical, evaluating, and problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills.
It is meritorious with experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools, such as SAP.

ABB invests SEK 3.1 billion to expand its production capacity in Europe and build a new state-of-the-art European ABB Robotics Campus in Västerås. As part of our "local for local" production strategy, the campus will serve as a hub for ABB Robotics' offering in Europe, providing customers with AI-equipped collaborative and industrial robots as well as digital solutions to enable flexible automation. The new campus, which is planned to be inaugurated at the end of 2026, will replace the existing Robotics facilities in Västerås, Sweden.
