Job Responsibilities
As one of our colleagues are moving to new internal challenges, we are looking for a new team member within the team Commodity Procurement Cable harness and Sensors.
As a Sourcing Manager, you are responsible for components within ongoing production. Our sensor segment ranges from powertrain sensors to tire pressure monitoring systems. Since powertrain sensors are part of a shared platform within the Traton Group, your business will be influenced by activities across other brands.
Your role includes developing supplier relationships, shaping sourcing strategies, and leading commercial negotiations-while ensuring excellence in delivery performance, quality, technological advancement, and sustainability. You collaborate closely with suppliers, conducting in-depth commercial and technical analyses to optimize business outcomes.
Success in this role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with internal teams such as R&D, Project Purchasing, Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA), Scania Latin America, and the broader Traton Group.
Who You Are
We are seeking a highly experienced purchaser with strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to build and maintain long-term relationships, combined with a genuine interest in technology. You have a solid track record of translating technology roadmaps into sourcing strategies and successfully executing those strategies. You possess the confidence to challenge established ways of working and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
You act with integrity and professionalism, and are motivated by engaging with stakeholders across various levels of the organization and across different brands, adapting your communication style as needed. In addition, you bring strong analytical skills, thrive in complex environments, and are well-organized and process-oriented.
We believe you hold a degree in Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, or have acquired equivalent experience throughout your career. Proficiency in Swedish is considered an advantage.
This Is Us
To your help you will have some great people around you to get to know the products. You will join a diverse team of five sourcing managers from all around the world, all working within the field of cable harness and electrical components. We are working as a well-functioning team supporting and helping each other and have fun together. As new in the team you will get a mentor on the group, and if you are new at Scania you will get an introduction program with courses, to learn about our processes and way of working.

What truly drives me are challenging tasks and the opportunity to make a change. I find it very motivating to have the ability to utilize the strengths and capabilities of both the team and individuals to achieve our objectives. For me as a manager, its important to have transparency, communication, teamwork, and continuous improvements, to stive to improve our daily work situation. I have 16 years' experience within Scania both from production and procurement. I also have several years of experience working outside automotive sector.
Practical information
The position is situated in Södertälje, Sweden, and the position is full time. The position include business trips to suppliers and production sites both inside, and outside, of Europe. Scania is having a hybrid workplace, and at our department we are in the office at least 3 times a week.
